Our philosophy.
Karetta Expeditions is fruit of passion and love. Passion for nature and outdoors activities as a way to approach it, and sea kayak in particular as a means of exploration and discovery. And love for the exceptional island of Menorca, full of idyllic corners and magnificent natural areas where you can still enjoy the simplicity and authenticity of life.
Our philosophy is based on respect for this privileged natural environment as much as for sea kayak, ancestral survival boat of the inuit culture, in its most adventurous and expeditionary facet.
We believe that the enjoyment of such a particular space as Menorca requires a real commitment to conservation and environmental protection. Therefore in Karetta Expeditions we try to minimize the impact on nature in all the activities we organize.
Why Karetta?
Caretta caretta is the scientific name of “Loggerhead turtle”, the most common species in our waters and endangered. This turtle is able to travel very long distances with a strong sense of orientation. It represents for us the strenght, stability and energy to passionately address what we live and all the challenges that we face.
And Karetta with a “k” of kayak is more than the name that defines a sea turtle, it is a symbol, an expeditionary way of life.
We would like to convey all these attributes to our expeditionaries. How come? By slightly slowing, learning to relax, enjoy life and use our shell, in this case our kayak, to escape the stress of modern life.
The crew.
Karetta Expeditions is the result of the enthusiasm of our team, formed by Isa, Lucas and Didac, three explorers by nature with extensive experience as guides in different environments that share a common outlook on life and a special bond with sea kayaking.
This passion is what led us to undertake this expedition (or should we call it adventure) that we don’t know what holds for us but awakens in us the intense excitement of facing the unknown.
The main objective of our project is to share with you the experience of exploring the stuning coast of Menorca on a sea kayak and discover together the magic in every corner of the island.
